These Terms govern your use of the Normis website (normis.dev) and the Normis platform — our compliance API for AI agents (the “Service”). By creating an account or calling the API, you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service for an organization, you confirm you are authorized to bind it.
You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use it. We may update these Terms as described in the “Changes” section below, and continued use after an update means you accept the new version.
Normis returns a real-time compliance decision — allowed, blocked, or escalate — for a proposed action, citing the rules it relied on (rule ID, source, version, timestamp). You may use it to inform your own systems and workflows, subject to these Terms.
Normis is not legal advice. Decisions and cited rules are provided for informational and engineering purposes only and may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong for your specific situation. Normis is not a law firm, attorney, or regulated advisor; using it creates no lawyer–client relationship and is not a substitute for professional legal or compliance counsel. You remain solely responsible for the actions your systems take and for your own regulatory compliance.
The Service is evolving and provided on a beta basis; it may produce incomplete or incorrect results. An “allowed” result is an automated, non-authoritative signal — not a determination or guarantee that an action is lawful, compliant, or permitted — and a “blocked,” “escalate,” or missing result is likewise not advice. You must not rely on the Service as the sole basis for any regulated decision.
You agree not to: misuse or interfere with the Service; attempt to access it in ways other than the documented API; exceed published rate limits or otherwise overload it; reverse-engineer or resell it without permission; or use it for any unlawful purpose. We may set usage limits and may suspend access that threatens the Service or other users.
Sign-in is passwordless: we email you a one-time code. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure. API keys authenticate calls to the Service — keep them secret, never embed them in client-side code, and rotate them if exposed. You are responsible for all activity under your account and keys. Notify us promptly at support@normis.dev if you suspect unauthorized use.
The Service is provided without any guarantee of availability, uptime, or continuity. We may change, limit, suspend, or discontinue the Service or any feature at any time, with or without notice, and without liability to you. We may also suspend or terminate your access at any time, for any reason — including suspected violation of these Terms — and you may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including the disclaimers and limitations in section 5 and the General terms in section 6 — continue to apply.
The Service is currently provided free of charge, on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind — including any warranty that a compliance decision is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your situation, and any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. You use the Service entirely at your own risk. You are solely responsible for independently verifying every decision and for the actions your systems take; any risk arising from relying on the Service rests with you, not Normis.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Normis is not liable for any damages or losses arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service — including fines, penalties, regulatory or enforcement action, lost profits, lost data, or any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Because the Service is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability for any and all claims relating to it will not exceed USD 100.
You agree to indemnify and hold Normis harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or the actions your systems take in reliance on it. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect and the unenforceable provision will be applied to the maximum extent permitted. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Normis regarding the Service and supersede any prior understandings. You may not assign them without our consent; we may assign them, including in connection with a financing or acquisition. These Terms create no third-party beneficiary rights. Any claim relating to the Service must be brought within one (1) year after it arises, or it is permanently barred. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, give reasonable notice. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
